WWI Centennial Argonne Commemoration by the ONF
Some emblematic sites of the American intervention during World War I
The French National Forest Office (ONF) undertook during the centennial of WWI a heritage presentation program to ensure their memorialization and look to the future. This program was approved by the French Mission du Centenaire and the US World War One Centennial Commission. This heritage project was comprised of four parts:
- Lookout point at Croix du Bayle
- Commemorative planting in the forest
- Forest heritage trail
- Enhancement of the site’s educational value
